MUSHROOM!

Doesn't that sound like a fun color?
In a world full of "taupe" and "mocha" and "camel" and "khaki", Mushroom is a fantastic adjective for this new finish!

This is one of our must-have's. We must-have it on the floor always. Its too fabulous to simply gaze at on the pages of a catalog.
It is The Lawson.

With its seeded glass and classic hardware, this piece is a keeper. We love the crown molding. We love the adjustable shelves and the phenomenal choice of finishes. The Lawson has graced our showroom in red, white, black...and now.....
Mushroom!
Pretty, no?

An Anniversary on TV

We've been around for 15 years, you know. Pretty great for a small family business!
This morning we were featured on the San Antonio Living Show.
After loading up our furniture, we headed to the studios bright and early.

The studio itself is vibrantly colored and very energetic. Its a good place to sit on one of our comfy sofas and not fall asleep.
We brought the sister sofas (seen before in this blog).
They are slipcovers. Can you believe it? Who would have thought you could mix such different textures into one slipcover design?
Grace is one of our designers, fantastically creative and a great speaker. Some people say the camera adds ten pounds but there are those among us who feel the camera subtracts 10 IQ points the minute it starts rolling. Not so with Grace. She remembers what she wants to say (and how to form the words), even with a live camera trained on her. Its a talent. We are thankful for her.

These two sofas are a great example of how you can change your look from summer to winter without changing your sofa. Its all in the slipcover design. We can order your favorite frame with several slipcovers or help you design a slip for your existing sofa.
We are currently having an enormous anniversary sale so come in and see the possibilities!

Chandeliers!!!!!

We are unpacking chandeliers and hanging them in places they've never been hung before!
Like over the front counter! Its a revelation!
(Who would have thought it would be so fun to....see)

This heavy iron piece took a while to hang, simply because it goes so well everywhere. With everything! We couldn't agree on where to put it! It finally found its spot, however, and we all agree that it looks fabulous.

This cute pink and brown chandelier is hung and patiently awaiting the beautiful new crib it will soon be illuminating (as well as light bulbs of its very own). We are patiently awaiting the crib as well. We love cribs......
There are more to unpack and more to choose from. If we don't have something you like in stock, we can find it. Now that we have lighting above the counter, we're re-discovering the wonders of catalogs in color. (Its a miracle...)

Changes

Our store changes often. Occasionally we'll get a wild hair and move ALL THE BEDS.
It always sounds like a good idea at the time......
We like little changes as well. Take these hearts for example.
What are they for? Are they 100%, absolutely necessary? Why do we sew 50 stuffed hearts and hang them from the ceiling?
The answer is....because. Thats why.
That lucky bottom heart gets dozens of love-squeezes on a daily basis.

This week we have an overabundance of dining room tables. Fabulous dining room tables! Perhaps we'll post some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
In the meantime, and just in case you're worried, we have chairs too. Many, many many chairs.
All different shapes, styles, colors, prices, heights, depths...etc. Its kind of fun to pull a "Goldilocks" on this display. You're bound to sit on something that fits you perfectly.

Now this is what we call a blurry shot (so you can stop wiping your reading glasses on your shirt). We were so excited about this new little settee that we couldn't control the camera.
Tell us this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen.

And last but not least, our beloved Bunny Bed has made it to the floor and is now basking in the glow of its adorable surroundings. Welcome back, Bunny Bed. We've missed you.

Sister Sofas

We have something spectacular in our store. Two spectacular somethings, to be vaguely exact.
Its not the trees, although acquiring the trees did involve a large, uncoordinated effort (and thus their very presence is spectacular).
No, its the new sofas. The sister sofas.
Have you ever reclined on a little slice of heaven? If not, these babies are worth the trip (to Me & My House, that is)
Looks comfy doesn't it?
You have no idea.
We're having a hard time getting any work done at all. Plush cushions and velvet arms beckon us.
Here we've mixed all kinds of patterns and textures on a frame that will only improve with age.

Come in and create your own (or fall in love with one of ours).

PS-We've fixed the "comments" section and now anyone can post. We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas.

Bunny Bed

What better way to begin a blog than with this lovely iron bed.

Ah, the Bunny Bed. So many sweet stories, so little time.
We love the Bunny Bed. Always have. No matter the finish, its a favorite. This week, we loved it enough to lug it into a field on a hot San Antonio day. We ignored the bees and the mosquitoes and the gnat that lodged itself inside the camera lens.
Some photo shoots are easier than others......

This is a simple blog of the designs we create, the pieces we have, and the looks we love. Follow us as we try new things and discover new styles. Go behind the scenes with photos from our midnight displays and get a glimpse of new furniture and accessories right when they hit the floor. We do "Boutique" on a grand scale!
